Professional Driver

Claudia Vieth
1st year of training, Hamburg

In my search for a profession that offers good prospects after completing one’s training, I hit upon that of a lorry driver. During my further research I discovered that this was definitely the right job for me. As a company, HOYER has allowed me to pursue my vocational aspirations. Many people seem to think that professional drivers only sit in their lorry all day long, driving down the motorway, but there is a lot more to the job. Of course you do travel from place to place, but before and after this you have a lot of other things to do. I have to learn how the vehicle works, inside and out. The safety of the vehicle and its cargo is the top priority. Communicating with the customer is important too, so I also get to know different cultures and languages. At HOYER I am learning this profession in a team of master craftsmen and journeymen, so that later I will be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
